I feel like I could have pointed this out to everyone and maybe we would not be here today.įruit of the Loom was one of the first US companies to have a trademark in its name that actually describes the logo as having a cornucopia.
#Cornucopia fruit of the loom how to#
I did not want to alienate people by acting like I was smarter than anyone, so I usually kept my mouth shut if it was another adult (though I might show the kids how it was spelled and how to pronounce it). Yet each month at least a few kids, parents and (yes) teachers would ask me if there were any "Berenstein" books available that month, or if we could use the bonus points to buy "Berenstein" books for the classroom. the authors are also "Berenstain" and always have been, and THEIR names are usually printed in a less ornate font, that ANYONE should be able to read without confusion. It isn't impossible to glance at the words quickly and "see" an e where the a is. The font used for "Berenstain Bears" is script/cursive, and I know that kids learn to read "printed" letters first.

Berenstain Bears books were very popular. I used to be the class parent in my kid's school (mid-90s) and collated the Scholastic Book Club orders each month. It was corrected when the next lot was produced. So far as I am aware, this is the only typo of Berenstain that has made it to the public, and it was one title, and only one of the 3 labels on the product had the error. There is one Berenstain Bears VHS title that has "Berenstain" spelled wrong on the spine label. Somebody messed up the name a long time ago when they were producing the video tapes and ever since then it's stuck. To prove my case, I'll mention that Fruit of the Loom was one of the first US companies to have a trademark in its name that actually describes the logo as having a cornucopia.Īnyways, I thought that's an interesting take on these Mandella effects. They've removed the cornucopia from their logo without telling anybody, which creates confusion and voilà, people start posting their logo all across the internet without them having to do the advertising themselves. In regards to Fruit of the Loom and what many other companies seem to have been doing to their logos is, in my opinion, a very clever marketing strategy. People make mistakes, especially in spelling, so I think that this is a likely reason as to why people are getting mixed up between the two till this day. Next thing you know you have a mix up between all the people because they've gotten different tapes with the different spelling. One person misspells it and the other one spells it out right. The reason why we are getting this Mandella effect about the Bears is most likely because somebody messed up the name a long time ago when they were producing the video tapes and ever since then it's stuck. The Berenstein Bears Mandella Effect and possibly the Fruit of the Loom one. I have a theory which might explain the The Berenstain Bears vs.
